Contest Brief

Graphic design for new company: Aplisay Ltd
Brand name name is "Aplisay" or more likely, because it is softer and less formal, "aplisay".

Need in the first instance:

1) a Logo
2) a The style guide: colours, typography to match logo

We prefer open deliverables (EPS, PNG, HTML, CSS) but we have an Adobe licence so design files in .ai are also OK.

Bitmap drafts are fine, but for contest award final design must be sent as a vector (.ai or .eps) with any non-original fonts named, and converted to outlines.

About us

Aplisay develops innovative software that allows computers to understand and and manage voice and text conversations. Sometimes these are called "chatbots", but that doesn't really describe what we do. Our systems are designed to deliver social value by transparently assisting the real people at both ends of the communication, not by pretending to eliminate human conversations. It is a non-negotiable aspect of the way that we design systems that they respect the privacy and agency of the individuals that interact with them.

We are looking for a brand that we can use to sell software products and services which is:

Like single bold colours, or a restricted palette of colours that can be reflected in a stylesheet of complimentary hues.
Don't like full colour busy or complex images that are difficult to colour match and likely to be dissonant with future content

    What I need now to award an entry is the full package from the brief:
    Logo
    Style guide: colours, typography to match logo

    I've tried to rate them all, but some are only impressions 3d-renders of embossed paper, signs etc which are mostly not how it will be used. What I need to see to award is the simple colour, mono, reversed etc logo rendering and fonts, colours that you recommend to go with them (only one designer has done that so far).

    The rating I have used is:
    4- stars: like this idea, could easilly be the winner with the right treatment.
    3-stars: not quite as clear a winner as 4-stars, but still like, could be a winner if you blow me away with typography, colours and further treatment.
    2-stars and below: something about the design doesn't resonate with my brief, could be quite angular and technical, could be quite complex, probably not worth spending time to develop further as unlikely to win.

    Everything so far has been very angular and "technical": upper case, repetition of 'A', very geometric.

    Happy for folks to put more entries in that explore this further, but would love to see entries per the brief that emphasise understanding and empathy: lower case, softer, rounder.
