Contest Brief

Interstellar Language Services is a business-to-business online language training provider based in Cebu, Philippines. We provide teachers to sellers of online language services abroad.

We will differentiate ourselves from our competition by providing top quality teachers with excellent and verifiable credentials and work experience. Furthermore, we provide a pay-level, benefits, and fulfilling work environment that is above that of our competitors and is reflective of the quality of our teaching staff. Thus, our slogan is "Work with the Stars"

We want a vector logo. It should be simple, eye-catching, communicate the ideas previously outlined, and fit well with the wordmark. It should be able to stand alone on various media where suitable, e.g. watermarks, t-shirts, caps etc., without the wordmark. The wordmark should also be able to stand alone without the logo . I would like to see several lockups or layout configurations so that it retains its character and looks good on any location it might wind up.

We'd like to see the full business name Interstellar Language Services, as well as the acronym ILS. These should be in conjunction with the the slogan.

The logo's primary color should be blue, with decorative additions of red and white. We'll also want a black and white, as well as a white (for when used on a black background) variants.

The logo should be presented in several sizes so that we can be certain it looks good as we scale it from very large to small.

The winning logo must be provided in the following formats: ai, PDF, EPS, Jpeg, and PNG. It should be in the different color schemes stated previously. We will want files of the logo+wordmark, the logo by itself, and the wordmark by itself. Additionally, we require a letterhead template, a business card template and a favicon.

    This is now the 4th logo contest I've run in the last 2 years. I continue to see the same designs submitted. If people are submitting the exact same designs for 4 different businesses, it is clear that many of you are simply using templates from your software. If you are one of the many people doing so, you are wasting your time. I will not select your design. More importantly, you are doing yourself a disservice, because by failing to make your own work you aren't improving your craft.

    Do yourselves and me a favor - make something unique, or don't make anything at all.
