Contest Brief

I am looking for someone who has a keen eye on interior design and can help me express my interests in my house.
My living room is about 25 x 16ft with 8ft ceilings. I live on the gulf coast of Florida, USA in a small home built in the 1950s. I am a world traveler and my style preference would be described as mid-century modern meets east-Asian eclectic. I love fun textures, color and art.
I plan on painting the living room so you can help choose a paint color for a low-light room. There are two windows about 4ft in length. One on the north side and the other on the east side of the house. The main door to the house is also on the east wall of this room.
Things the room needs to keep:
Tan couches* (I know, they don't exactly fit mid-century modern)
Art painting
TV
Mirrors**

*One of the two can go, but we'll need an inexpensive alternative for seating
**The mirrors are hand carved from Argentina, if it doesn't fit in this room, it can work in another

Style needs:
clean-minimalist approach
fun with color and paint
various lighting levels
group seating
textures that are cat friendly (woven fabric couches won't work)
new lighting

Please provide photos/3D drawings of:
-lighting elements
-paint colors
-furniture and room accessories
-explanation about how my design preferences fit into your contest submission

Ideally, the entire room can be designed less than $900 USD, and hopefully for under $600! If you are the right designer for this project, I have other rooms that need work as well.
I can do some assembly and small projects to save money. Local furniture finds, and stores like Ikea, Target and Home Goods can fit the budget.

I have provided photos of the room for reference.

  If you are able to find a couch cover that fits the couches that I can purchase, yes it is possible. Also, I can remove one of the two couches if there is a suggestion for alternative seating.
