Contest Brief

Hello all
This is a contest for the interior design of the entry hall/staircase hall of a private residence. It has to be definitely elegant, refine (not rustic or industrial look) however it can be more or less contemporary / modern or more classical (vintage) or a mix of both style. What is required is a warm feeling and a wooden flooring is requested as well as large wooden doors frames (though they can be light in color or even white). False ceiling and lighting location have to be designed as well. And we are currently having 2 staircase option, one a floating staircase , the other one resting on 2 stringers. I am attaching herewith the 2 sketchup files you can work from. Architecture of the room cannot be changed but you can change the railing for instance. I am posting the basic layout of the entry hall (ground floor ) and the 1rst floor plan so you can treat the staircase as well. It is important to think about the staircase as a link between the 2 levels (ground floor and 1rst floor) . Also take note that at 1rst floor level there will be sliding panels (wooden or glass/ it has not been decided yet but you can incorporate a design proposal of it as part of the entire room/space interior design) around the staircase that allow to entirely enclose the stairway during winters (for heating energy saving)
