Contest Brief

REQUIREMENTS:

LOGO for the organization “World Combat Systems & Martial Arts Association - WCSMAA”.
The motto is: “Ad Astra per Aspera” ( "through hardships to the stars")

The logo should represent the integration of Asian and European martial arts concepts.
The main moment is that our organization represents two directions of martial arts one related to Eastern (Oriental, Asia) culture another is about Western (European) combat culture. Our organization is not about competition/sport martial arts, our organization is about self-defense martial arts and real survival against violence. Another moment is that our organization represent two concepts: the 1st is Modern Close Combat - Self-Defense Systems and the 2nd concept is Traditional martial arts.

You may add there some fighter silhouettes of an Asian warrior (maybe some "samurai") and European warrior (knight, wiking, spartan) and it is good to use two swords one for samurai sword katana and another sword of the European knight/Spartan. You also may use some silhouettes of modern warrior soldier and ancient warrior as a samurai, spartan, knight, wiking. You are completely free, you may create only your own vision.

In order to help with a design idea I created a general idea of this logo - I attached it here. I am not a professional designer in this reason I want to see my logo idea professionally and solid looking. I would like to have a full upgrade, renovate, refurbish, freshen up our logo, it is not necessary to do it as on picture that I sent to you. I need much better than on the picture that I sent. Try to create some authentic and original logo, please, do not use copyrighted stock pictures and clip arts. At the end of the contest, I and our board members will choose the winner reviewing only creative works which do not use copyrighted stock pictures.

The logo should be solid and modern. This logo we are going to use in our documents, diplomas, certificates, invitations, and other official letters (I will attach some sample). This logo will be used also for our uniform patches, badges, pins, t-shirts, rash guards and other training wear.

You can use any of these colors: solid blue, black, gold, white, red, chrome/silver, some solid tones of yellow. Or any other colors that you think will be better.

My logo must be easily recognizable as being about both modern self-defense systems and traditional martial arts on the international level. Please do not use any fists, boxing gloves, and kicking fighter silhouettes in the logos. It is very important that the words World Combat Systems & Martial Arts Association - WCSMAA are very clear and easy to read. The motto “ad astra per aspera” can be in some special font.

    Try to create some authentic and original logo, please, do not use copyrighted stock pictures and stock clip arts. At the end of the contest, I and our board members will choose the winner reviewing only creative works which do not use copyrighted stock pictures. The most creative work which pin our philosophy in the logo will be chosen as a winner.
