Hi All,
So I have just started a new business and am having a terrible time trying to pick a name. Unfortunately I don't have a creative bone in my body hence being here and putting this to a contest!
To be precise, I am looking for a brand name. Given that the products will be in the upper price range, I need to have a brand that reflects this without making it sound super expensive.
So what do we do? We have begun manufacture of a small range of men's shaving products. Designed to be put together in kit for the ultimate shaving experience, the 4 products come nicely packaged in an upmarket style box which both holds and displays the products. If you are familiar with the Art of Shaving products then this will give you a very good idea about what we are making.
If possible, I would like the word/s shave or shaving in the brand name as this best describes our products and I feel that having this keyword in their will make sure that people instantly recognise what we do. If this is not possible then this is also fine as we have had some excellent suggestions without using the words. We have had some excellent entries so far without using the word/s shave or shaving and these are at the top of my list o far!!
The four products involved in the kit are-
Pre Shave Oil- To help a razor glide over your skins easier. Reduce irritation and provide a closer and smoother shave minus the rash, itchiness or ingrown hairs, These oils are scented
Shaving Cream- Designed to be used with a traditional shaving brush, the cream is designed to form a nice later on the skin assisting in the smoothness of the shave, reducing irritation and inflammation along with reducing cuts. The creams are scented.
Shaving Brush- Designed for application of the shaving cream, the brushes are of the highest quality. We use three types of brushes, Silvertip, Pure Badger and Best Badger. These are designed to provide an excellent coverage of cream to your face and massage the cream into both your skins and your hair for easier shaving practices.
After Shave Lotion- Designed to moisturise and Nourish, the lotion is designed to cool your skins and take any irritation away along with leaving your skin feeling fresh, healthy and clean. The lotion comes in several scents.
As mentioned above, the four products will be able to purchased in kits for in an upmarket box or as individual items. The products themselves bring the old world style of shaving with the new requirements of men today who want to pamper and look after themselves in the best possible way.
These are going to be marketed as a mid to high level product in the upper price range with kits ranging from $120 through to $180. The individual items themselves will be from $35 through to $50. As I said, more high end.
Our target market in obviously males between the ages of 25 and 50. The kits and products will be sold online however the option for retail in the future is not out of the question.
A couple of things that need to be considered-
That a corresponding domain name or something similar is available to match your entry. Try www.godaddy.com to make sure it available in both .com and .com.au formats. This is for the name of the brand of course.
The other is that the name will be able to be registered in Australia and that no one else has taken the name. You can check for that here-

This will be used to then post a contest for my logo and also packaging so it is very important to get right! I am looking for short, sharp, catchy names if possible but nothing that is crass, gimmicky etc.

Hi Guys. I appreciate all the work you do to not end up getting the gig hence being more then happy to rate, review and answer any questions you might have. In the end, it only ends up as a better result for me. the more you put in the more you get out. There were a lot of 5 star ratings that I gave and I had to think long and hard when I was rating. You would have noticed I changed my mind on ratings many time and this was only due to that fact that I was consistently going over the names time and time again to review. Hi Guys, Quick update- As I said, no need to have the word/s shave or shaving n the name if you have something else. Some of the best names I have recived have been names thathave not had these words so it is not a requirement!

You wrote the opposite in the brief of the contest above. Perhaps you will continue to receive suggestions including shave or shaving, because people have to read and follow first of all the brief.
