Contest Brief

Objective: Develop a refined and realistic graphic representation of an automated orchestration and collection system that tracks, loses, predicts, and regains custody of a naval vessel. The diagram should visually depict the process of automatic detection, loss of tracking, tasking for collection, and successful recapture based on predictive modeling.

A rough Mockup is provided.

Key Elements to Include:
1. Object Tracking:
• Show a naval vessel with an initial position and subsequent tracking points.
• Use a dotted line to indicate the vessel's path until the point where it "goes dark" and custody is lost.
2. Sensor Network Tasking:
• Integrate icons or symbols representing different types of sensors such as RF (Radio Frequency), IMINT (Imagery Intelligence), and SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar).
• Create visual tasking queues or lines from these sensors to the area of interest.
3. Predictive Path and Collection:
• Use a colored, transparent cone or a series of grids to represent the predictive model for the vessel's future location.
• Highlight the area where an EO (Electro-Optical) satellite is predicted to find the vessel after 30 hours, including the actual recapture point.
4. Automated Orchestration:
• Illustrate the automation process with a flowchart or a series of interconnected nodes that activate upon losing custody.
• Emphasize the system's use of historical behavior, speed, and heading to predict future locations for collection opportunities.
5. Regaining Custody:
• Clearly mark the location where the EO satellite successfully regains visual custody of the vessel.
• Show confirmation of the vessel's recapture with a checkmark or another visual affirmation.
Design Aesthetics:
• Utilize a realistic Earth background, representing the South China Sea region, ensuring geographical accuracy.
• Employ a modern and clean design style with a technological feel appropriate for a defense and intelligence context.
• Use a color scheme that is visually striking yet maintains clarity between different elements of the diagram.
• Ensure all text is legible, with a font style that is professional and suitable for official presentations.
Final Deliverables:
• A high-resolution graphic suitable for both digital viewing and print format.
• Source files in editable format to allow for future adjustments if necessary.
I am looking for the first draft of this graphic to be completed within 24 hours with potential revisions to follow. Your expertise in visual storytelling and information design will be invaluable in effectively conveying this complex automated process.
