Contest Brief
I need an e-book cover design for a manuscript I am in the process of editing.
It needs to be submitted in (at least) a high res jpeg file.
There are no ongoing royalties as I cannot guarantee the sales of the ebook so I must have exclusive copyrights to the image.
I may ask you to prove the source of the photo/images you are using, especially if they contain people, to ensure that they have been purchased from a legitimate stock (shutterstock etc) and have no copyright entitlements against them. Anyone using images I find have been fraudulently picked up from elsewhere will be rejected and reported. I kid you not, the last time I ran a contest someone tried to use a image from LOTR and claimed it to be their own design!
I have chosen the cost of this contest to be in line with my own budget and anyone asking me to spend on additional contest options will be ignored.
It must show the title: A Butterfly Romance
It must show my name as: K F Williams
I would like the cover to be dark blue at the top speckled with stars fading to light blue at the bottom, one of the characters enjoys stargazing so other night sky images/telescopes/etc are acceptable as well.
A butterfly in the middle which is magical and described in the book as having a body that is brown with ten rings illuminating its thorax with a glow-stick like shimmer, it has knee high socks on its spindly legs in the same shimmer and three sets of antenna. Its wings were brown on the outside, but inside that were a riot of colour, several shade of red coated the edges with the colours slowly fading to white where they attached to the body.
It is important to be faithful to the butterfly description as possible.
The title and my author name must be in thin italic font and pink in colour, with the book title above the butterfly and my name beneath it.
If you are looking for anything to perk up the back ground the characters live in a town with high hills and spend time looking down over the view while butterfly hunting and stargazing, they also go to fairground (games, roller-coaster, ferris wheel, etc)
These are just my ideas to get you going, please feel free to submit any design you like based either on the above or from your own imagination.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
