Design a Logo for a language practice business

Contest Brief
Hello designers!
We have an existing logo but we would love either an improved logo or a completely new logo that is modern, well-designed, eye-catching, and which promotes our services at a glance.
The most important point that must come across in the logo is that our services involve "reading and writing". Please refer to our Freelancer.com profile for more information on our services, as well as our Facebook page (Grammar Guardians South Africa).
Ideally your designs will be inspired by our name; the protection and guarding of the written word. (Initially we wanted to call the business Grammar Police but it was taken already by many other similar businesses).
The attached picture is our current logo.
Our preferred colours are red, black and white. Other colours can be presented but please no yellow, orange, pink, baby blue, etc. We want strong colours to suit the image of protection/guarding.
