Contest Brief

Before European colonists arrived, Canada was home to many Native American people and their cultures. This is a video game about their world ... before everything changed.

We are looking for unique, historically-accurate concept art for the characters in this video game. If our project inspires you and you want to show the world your talents, send us your concept art!

The tribes in the game that are inspiring our design are Cree, Atikamekw, Montagnais and Iroquois.

Send us a JPEG/PNG/PSD in High Quality (300 dpi) in at least 1920 x 1080.

  The main character will be either a male or female. We are looking for an accurate depiction of a native american, a look that everyone can relate too ; not too muscular, fit enough and from late 20s to late 30s. We want to create a feel that is accessible and "real". Let me know if I can give more clarifications! :)

Hi there! What kind of game is it going to be? 2D or 3D? For PC gaming or an app? What genre is it going to be - puzzle, adventure, rpg? Also, if you have an example of the game that will have a similar mechanics to your game - that would help a lot! Thanks!

  Hi! Thank you for your interest! :) It will be a 3D game, for PC gaming . We are looking to sell it on Steam. We are aiming for more of a RPG game. The main inspiration we have are the type of Telltale Games (choose-your-own-adventure graphic novel), We are also inspired by the style of Firewatch - exploration with scripted events. Firewatch are the closest concept of the game, if it was on third person view, like Dragon Age. I don't know if it helps you see a little bit where we are going with the project, but if you would like more informations, don't hesitate! I will be thrilled to see what you have to propose.   Hi! Thank you for your interest. The style has not been defined yet - it's up to you! :) Just one character of any tribe will do, and it can be either a male or female. In the game, it will be possible to personalise the main character, so a female and male version can be fun, if you have the time for it!
