Contest Brief

We are working on a project to grow a tropical rainforest in the Australian desert under a geodesic dome. We want to inspire people to join our project and the best way to do this is to show them a picture of our vision. This image (or set of images) should be a striking photorealistic/architectural illustration of a geodesic dome containing a tropical forest in the desert. We'd like the feel of this illustration to be a dramatic, artistic vista. With very similar colours and effects as the attached Mad Max poster. Also attached are some inspiration shots of the red Australian desert, the basic geodesic dome structure and a few classic bell tents that we'd like to have illustrated around the dome.

***UPDATE***
Guys, I thought I'd just try to help with the direction here. I've uploaded a concept I just hacked together. This kind of artwork is more what I'm after when I say "dramatic". Please see this file: Eridu.png

Question: what kind of trees or plants you want inside the dome? does it have to be random or you have any specific name that you want to show them inside the dome?

Hi guys, I'm looking to have tropical rainforest plants inside the dome.

Here of some links to the type of stuff I mean. The thing is though that really in this shot I'm picturing the dome being somewhat in the middle distance so you won't be able to see the plants inside clearly.

I'd like to use it for web so it probably needs to be over 1000px wide

    Hi!

By "photorealistic/architectural", does that also mean I'm allowed to use the traditional method of rendering architecture drawing, by way of watercolors & markers? Thanks!

Yes I'd be more than happy to have you use markers and watercolour effects - especially to get the dramatic look I'm after.

around 1500px wide or greater will be fine for this version - this is just for web. Ideally higher res would be better.

bigger images are render expensive, so it takes hours for a a photo realistic image to render, how about 1024x786 for the showing purposes, if the entry got win then it would be no problem rendering in any size :) thank you
