Contest Brief

My new business is an online blog that posts about geek news, event, reviews and opinion pieces. We are currently based in Ireland and will expand internationally in due course.

The feel and look of the brand should be geek (think movies/games style brands and websites), however, I'm more than happy to see abstract creations that could create a unique brand.

I am looking for someone to create a brand guide for us, including font styles, colour styles and a web-friendly logo that will work well as a masthead, on social media channels and as a favicon.

The logo should NOT make any reference to the name of the business and should be a complete, stand-alone design that is not made up of words. You are of course welcome to present a logo alongside the business name, but it should stand on it's own just fine. The logo should in no way be a pair of glasses or have the focus being on being a pair of glasses.

Logos have been attached from the websites that I find most comparable to what I'm looking to achieve.

Business name: Geek Ireland

IMPORTANT NOTE - I really do not want Ireland or any type of "irish-ness" to influence the design. This is simply the Irish version of this website. UK, US, GER etc will all follow :)

Final deliverables:
1) Brand colour guides in hex format
2) Brand fonts (google safe)
3) Non-text logo

Bonuses for concepts around social profiles/banners to help sell your idea i.e. Twitter, FB etc will help me pick you as the winner.

    Hello CH! I'm interested to participate in your contest. It would be nice if you can #sealed the contest. Some of the designers feel confident to participate in contests that offer to protect them work by sealing it (so only you can see it). Also, it is a plus cuz nobody copies other designer’s work.

    Now you can be sure which designer is giving you a design completely made by itself and you can feedback and rating to guide them get better. Some of the designers feel more confidence to participate in contests that offer to protect them work by sealing it and by guaranteeing the final price.
