Contest Brief

Dear freelancers,

We are looking for someone who can do some banner designing for our website.

It has to be someone who can speak fluid English, that is professional and understanding when it comes to designing.
This is a test case, the winner will becomes our new partner for designing banners and promo materials.

This case is for a new homepage banner. We will need the chosen banner in .JPG and in .PSD, so we can edit the image if we want to.

Some context:
We have a webshop that sells design glasses of all the big Designers(www.weboptiek.be). Our main unique selling point is our service, it’s without a doubt the best service online.
If a customer emails or call’s our shop owner, she helps the client as good as possible, even if there is no guarantee for a sale.
Every person that she has helped has bought glasses afterwards because they were so satisfied, BUT: There are not that many people calling for advice.

The point of this banner will be to convince the user that they can get advice for what glasses fit them best, with a simple ‘push of the button’
(There has to be nothing stopping them for clicking the banner)

The person can call us or send us his selfie/photo by e-mail or call us for advice.

We have the following requirements:
• You can use English for the banner, once the best design is chosen I’ll translate the chosen words.
• Is has to look modern, playfull and catchy
• It would be a great plus if the banner is actually funny.
• It has to stand out, maybe you can use complementary colors(not the blue).
• I would strongly suggest one or more of the following elements:
> A line/label: “Best service online” preferably => “De Beste Service Online!”
> Call to action button
> Free service (Gratis dienst/Geheel vrijblijvend)

• You can use photographs you find on www.shutterstock.com, www.istockphoto.com, (or any other). I won’t criticize a blurry or watermarked image as long as you can buy the original for a reasonable price. (when chosen I’ll pay all necessary expenses)

• You can find some examples of images in the attachment (I looked for 10min, I’m pretty sure there are a lot funnier pictures, so don’t feel the need to use mine)

• The file has to be delivered in .psd and .jpg(or .png) format.

• Size: 462px / 338px

(You can be creative and try something else, maybe your idea is much better!)

2) “Want to know what glasses DO fit you?” => Get free, professional advice now! (with a picture of a man/women/child with ugly glasses)

3) Can’t make up your mind? Get free online advice! (with a picture of a man/women/child that can’t make up her/his mind)

4) Send a selfie and we tell you what glasses fit you best

5) Annoyed by searching? We will help you! Send your picture and we tell you what fits you best.

6) Stop searching! Let us give you some ideas!

7) Stop searching! Ask for the best online advice!

8) Let us advise you!

9) We are here to help you!

10) ...

I will help you all on the way, I’ll rate frequently and tell you what I like and don’t like.
The most creative and funny banners will get extra ratings.

Just a few questions is this banner going to be on your site or some other sites,when you click the banner is some sort of chat going to start or some form is going to pop up or do you just need people to email you,do you need a click me button or not

  The banner is only going to be posted on weboptiek.be. A click me button would be nice, they will go to a page with an explanation (+mail:link) to send their selfie. I would provide a button so it’s obvious that they are supposed to click the banner.

We will choose the banner that is most likely to get the most clicks- Remove this line, there are people who have multiple id's here just for the sake of clicks nd likes :)

  What I meant was after it is launched on the webshop, so the banner with the best (predicted) click trough rate. I removed it anyway, thanks for mentioning.
