An Interpretable NLP Approach
I've a PhD in Physics and 3 years Data Science experience in the Unstructured Data (NLP/Deep Learning) space. I solve problems like this all the time! I've laid out an approach as a series of milestones - an MVP, with some extensions that will improve performance. I've included specific Python packages which will allow you to implement the suggested techniques. If you don't have Neural Network experience, I would discourage you from going down that route of complexity - instead, I present a state-of-the-art semantic text NLP approach and how to evaluate it.
