Business Description
This Company is multi-faceted. Mostly we are prototype and new product developers. In this case we are marketing a new snack food. The product is a naturally cured and then dehydrated sausage. Two sticks totalling 50g will be packaged in a foil wrapper. The sales outlets will be bars, convenience stores, clubs, supermarkets and service stations. The business is based on the East Coast of Australia. The market will be confined to Australia initially.
Detailed requirements
The design will be used on advertising and promotional material as well as on the front side of the wrapper of the product. Because of the need to use it on the wrapper the shape of the design should be determined by the shape of the wrapper which is 190mm x 60mm. At sales outlets the package will hang vertically but the text will probably need to be horizontal. The name of the product (trademark) is Snag in a bag. In Australia the slang term for a sausage is a Snag. Since the design is to be printed on foil stickers/posters and the wrapper is also foil, the colours should be vivid and will be enhanced by the reflective medium. We envisage a plain white background with a photo-realistic image. The image is to show a sausage on a char/flame grill and the sausage is laid out in a shape so as to form the word SNAG. Underneath and in much smaller letters are the words 'in a bag'. the 'typeface' of the words needs to be clearly readable but would probably be in script format. The whole image should appear clean, uncluttered and look appetizing. The colour of the sausage should be typical of a sausage which is half cooked and there might be some red embers, yellow, purple flames etc, black coals, wisps of smoke?? That is how we imagine it but other design ideas are most welcome. The main point is that since it is an entirely new brand and also a new product it needs to be easily and clearly readable and then readily recognized. A pleasing overall shape to the word would be favoured because it would make it more recognizable and lend itself to use as the basis of a logo which will be the next stage.
